After we had been paddling for about 2 hours on our trip that was supposed to be an hour loop, we have him a call and he told us to stop at the large dam. We continued on this dangerous path full of debris, rapids, and dangerous currents. When we came to a little dam we got out and went over it like we were told to do. He told us there was a point that we needed to pick up our kayaks and carry them and put them back in the water so we could just go in a circle back to the starting location. They gave us a little run down on where to and where not to go which we didn't really understand so he gave us his number to call if we got lost. I myself have been kayaking for years however my friends had never been which we made very clear to the staff. ![]() They were rude, arrogant, selfish, demanding, careless, and the list goes on. When we told Ben, the owner, that we almost died, he smiled and laughed and replied, "Oh that's too bad." Then he even had the nerve to charge us for the paddle that one of our girls lost while trying to stay alive and said, "Next time you come back, take the bus to the top of the river and float down." We were NOT offered that this time. I was trying to put my kayak back in the water and she left me near the river by myself and didn't even help me put it back in the water. When she found the others, she just left. We waited for a hour and a half for help but another person kayaking actually helped us. The girl who worked there said she could stay with her in the office but left her by herself. The only person was one of other girls who couldn't do it because she was special needs, she tired, but couldn't. When we got to the building, no one was there. Then, we all got flipped and almost drowned because she told us that we didn't have to wear our life jackets because it was "so easy, a five year old could do it." Five of us got stuck by a branch in the current and three of us went back to get help. There was eight of us and the tour guide didn't come with us after we told her that we were first timers. I gave this place a shot and it did not disappoint, the staff just needs to be more organized and I wish that the trip covered a longer distance. I'm sure they would not have charged us for going over, but the float only lasted an hour and a half, even with our group going very, very slowly, and stopping to play in the falls for a bit. My biggest issue was that between paying, loading the kayaks, and waiting for the lost one, we spent two full hours (out of the four we payed for). However, that driver was unaware and thus we were left stranded at the river without a kayak for 30 minutes. Ben allowed us to still pay the groupon price, which was very kind.Īn issue occurred when all 13 kayaks could not fit on one trailer, so one was sent with a separate bus. Paying with the groupon worked out well even though groupon had an issue. ![]() When I arrived at the location, I found it like the other reviewers had: kayaks strewn about and rusted workout equipment that has been left outside. He did respond within half a day, which was good enough for me. ![]() To ensure I would not be left stranded like previous reviewers, I sent many texts to the number listed, which is the owner of the business (Ben). My son brought 12 other college age kids with him. After reading the quite negative reviews, I decided to give this location a shot because the groupon brought the cost down significantly.
